St. Girons is a commune in the Ariége department in the middle of the Pyrenean mountains in southwestern France. I went out for a morning jog (my newest way to explore new places!) and decided to come back to this hill at the entrance of the town to get this panoramic. We made a stop for two nights at Hotel Restaurant Eychenne. A true culinary experience! in fact it seems as if even the french only come to this town to eat! If you ever come here make sure you order the signature dish Magret de Canard (the duck). The Staff at Hotel Eychenne welcomes you with a cosy atmosphere. The hotel is located in a small street of Saint Girons, just next to downtown. The facade is charming, but it doesn't boast of all the space it has to offer once you come in. At the entrance, in the hall and at the reception, everything is subject to photographs. One step inside, and you can feel like you are travelling in time, appealed to an old style french hotel, very traditional. One thing is true about the french, they are very strict about dining and wining times so don't be late or you will be left with an empty belly and nowhere to go because everything closes after 9pm in Saint Girons! Hope you enjoyed the review and dont forget to:
